The San Francisco Bay Area is expected to see the highest temperatures of the week on Thursday, and some locations in the North Bay are forecast to approach a balmy 70 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. The warmup isn't forecast to last long, with cooler temperatures and a slight chance for rain expected over the weekend, and downtown San Francisco is forecast to dip below 40 degrees for the first time this year early next week. Amid a spell of dry weather and an overnight offshore wind event, the Bay Area is expected to warm up on Thursday morning.
