Whoopi Goldberg told her co-hosts Monday on ABC’s “The View” that Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) has “Clarence Thomas Syndrome” and used a racist dog whistle during his 2024 Republican presidential bid announcement.” Goldberg said, “If you are going to have talk about personal responsibility. I mean, you know, all they do is talk about a victim. ‘I won the election, I won, I won, I won.’ Come on now, this may have been a bit much, this year, you know?” She added, “I think it’s really important, if he had come out and said, you know what? Here’s what has been happening. And here’s how I am going to change it. Instead, for me, he came out and did that dog whistle, victimhood. As soon as you say that, you know what he’s talking about. I didn’t like that.” Co-host Sunny Hostin said, “I think one of the issues that Tim Scott has, is that he seems to think, ‘because I made it, everyone can make it.’ Ignoring again, the fact that he is the exception and not the rule. Thomas Buergenthal, Holocaust Survivor and Judge, Dies at 89
Thomas Buergenthal, who said his survival in a Nazi death camp when he was 10 years old equipped him to become a human rights lawyer and venerable judge on the World Court, died on Monday at his home in Miami. He was 89. His death was confirmed by his son Alan Buergenthal. Judge Buergenthal and his parents were transported from a Jewish ghetto in occupied Poland to Auschwitz, where Tommy, as he was called, was believed to be among the youngest survivors. He also survived a three-day death march to Sachsenhausen, Germany, where he was liberated by Soviet troops a few months later. His father and grandparents died in the Holocaust. The ordeal, he wrote in “A Lucky Child: A Memoir of Surviving Auschwitz as a Young Boy” (2007), prepared him “to be a better human rights lawyer, if only because I understood, not only intellectually but also emotionally, what it is like to be a victim of human rights violations.” “I could, after all, feel it in my bones,” he added. … [Read more...] about Thomas Buergenthal, Holocaust Survivor and Judge, Dies at 89
Friend of Justice Clarence Thomas says he never broke ethics rules and has receipts to prove it
close Video Clarence Thomas is a great American: Sen. Tom Cotton Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., discusses the left’s attempt to ‘smear’ Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas on ‘The Ingraham Angle.’ A friend of Clarence Thomas says there is well-documented evidence that the Supreme Court justice did not transgress judicial ethics rules by not disclosing vacation trips with his friend Harlan Crow, a billionaire businessman and GOP donor. A ProPublica investigation published in April found that Thomas’ close friendship with real estate developer Crow allowed him to accompany the Texas billionaire on luxury vacations on his private jet and yacht, as well as free stays on Crow’s vast vacation property, among other perks. Mark Paoletta, who has vigorously defended Thomas in the weeks after he came under scrutiny from Senate Democrats who said he was in violation of court ethics laws for those trips, said in a series of tweets that Thomas has been in … [Read more...] about Friend of Justice Clarence Thomas says he never broke ethics rules and has receipts to prove it

He was 79. His daughter Sondi Johnson announced the death, saying no specific cause had been determined. Mr. Johnson lived at the New York State Veterans Home in St. Albans, Queens.
