CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — During orientation at Harvard Divinity School here in 2013, Angie Thurston wandered amid the tables set up by the various campus ministries. Catholic, Methodist, Muslim — they mostly served to reinforce the sense that Ms. Thurston did not fit into an organized religion. Eric DeGrechie , Patch Staff Posted Reply DEERFIELD, IL — Mason Tepper, like many other local children, is still haunted by the events of last July 4 when a mass shooting occurred at a parade in nearby Highland Park. "My classmates had to deal with friends, or friends of friends, who were shot," Tepper told Patch. "So when I was running for the executive committee at my school, my parents helped me come up with the idea to help the community and also see how I could help young athletes too since I love to play sports." Tepper said he shares sports teams with Highland Park and is very familiar with the community from living on the North Shore.
