Oysters are to Marin County as pizza is to Italy. You can find them pretty much everywhere, but how do you sift through the slew of restaurants shucking them? That was the conundrum as I planned my solo food to trip Marshall, the tiny coastal town off Highway 1 that is best known for its seafood eateries. After some digging, I decided that the best course of action was to narrow in on two decades-old institutions: Nick’s Cove and Tony’s Seafood. The drive to Marshall takes about two hours from my East Bay home, but I was more than happy to escape the suburbs on a recent Tuesday and go off the grid for a few hours. I decided to take the long drive up to Nick’s Cove first, the most northern point, before making my way down to Tony’s Seafood. After exiting Highway 101, I turned onto Pepper Road and found myself in the middle of farmlands, where herds of cattle slowly grazed the hillsides. Any remnant of stress escaped my soul. Coast Guard Evacuates Man From Cruise Ship In SF Bay
0 Crime & Safety Coast Guard officials said a cruise ship passenger suffered a leg injury shortly after the vessel left port in San Francisco. Lucas Combos , Patch Staff Posted Reply SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Coast Guard rescue crews evacuated an 85-year-old passenger from the Ruby Princess cruise ship on Wednesday evening, not long after the ship left port. Watchstanders fielded a call for help from the ship shortly after 6:30 p.m. as the vessel sat near Alcatraz. The ship's crew told the Coast Guard the passenger had suffered a leg injury during transit through the San Francisco Bay. The watchstanders coordinated a response boat, which launched out of Coast Guard Station San Francisco shortly before 8:30 p.m. Officials said the medevac crew arrived at the ship within minutes. The rescue team secured the passenger and took him to Gas House Cove, where medics were waiting on shore to provide help.
