San Francisco’s Democratic district attorney announced Friday that his convicted murderer father received his first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in a New York prison. "Amazing news," Chesa Boudin tweeted Friday afternoon. "My incarcerated father just got his first vaccine shot! I hope that once I get my vaccine, and the prison reopens for visitors, I will be able to see him again for the first time in over a year." Boudin’s dad, David Gilbert, 76, was convicted of felony murder in connection with the infamous Brinks’ heist in 1981, which left two police officers and a guard dead. His mother, Kathy Boudin, was also convicted and paroled in 2003. Gilbert was sentenced to 75 years to life in prison for his role in the robbery, in which members of the Weather Underground and Black Liberation Army stole $1.6 million from a Brink’s armored truck in upstate New York. Carlson: ‘Public Health Experts Are Scrambling to Avoid Humiliation’ of Pandemic-Response Failures
Friday on FNC’s “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” host Tucker Carlson took aim at various responses throughout government agencies that resulted in worsening the COVID-19 pandemic over the past several months. He started with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) initial reaction to the pandemic threat all the way through the contradictions of Biden health adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci. Transcript as follows: It was a year ago this week that Nancy Pelosi was walking the streets of San Francisco’s Chinatown without any concern whatsoever for her personal safety. Nancy Pelosi’s face was stark naked. She wasn’t wearing a mask, neither were the dozens of people who surrounded her. A local CBS affiliate was on the scene following all of it, but even the coronavirus was already spreading all over the world in places like France and South Korea and we now know here in the U.S., CBS didn’t suggest that anything was amiss. They didn’t report that Nancy Pelosi was a walking biohazard or a super spreader. And why would they think that? Just days earlier, Tony Fauci had gone on television and promised Americans that the risk of coronavirus infection in this country was quote, “minuscule.” So, if Tony Fauci’s word meant anything and at the time, people thought that it did, Nancy Pelosi’s walk around Chinatown wasn’t alarming, it was heroic. As when CBS News reporter put it, Nancy Pelosi was a walking one-woman tourist attraction on a mission to defeat a pathogen far more insidious than the coronavirus. Nancy Pelosi was in Chinatown to defeat racism against Asian-Americans. Pelosi herself was explicit on that point, quote, “We want to say to people come to Chinatown. Here we are. We’re careful. We’re safe. Come join us.” In other words, if you’re worried about catching the virus by gathering in a big crowd in Chinatown, that means you’re a white supremacist. So, one year after that remarkable day, what have we learned? Well, for one thing, we know that despite her ...
Boston Public Schools Suspend Advanced Program Because Officials Were ‘Disturbed’ By The Number Of Asian And White Students
An advanced program for high-performing students at Boston Public Schools was suspended after district officials determined the program would not promote antiracism due to the disproportionate number of Asian and white students, GBH News reported . The Advanced Work Classes program, which provides an accelerated academic curriculum for students in fourth through sixth grade, will be suspended for one year after Boston Public Schools’ superintendent Brenda Cassellius recommended the school focus on reforming its antiracist policies, according to GBH News . BREAKING: Boston Public Schools suspend advanced classes for grades 4-6 amid concerns of racial inequities: https://t.co/Rplp9IeB0R #BOSEdu #MAEdu #mapoli #bospoli — GBH News (@GBHNews) February 26, 2021 “There’s been a lot of inequities that have been brought to the light in the pandemic that we have to address,” Cassellius said, according to GBH News. “There’s a lot of work we have to do in the district to be antiracist and have policies where all of our students have a fair shot at an equitable and excellent education.” 70% of students in the program were white and Asian, while nearly 80% of all Boston public schools are Hispanic and black, a detailed study found, according to GBH News. Cassellius said that five schools currently offer the program, and last fall, 453 students applied and 116 students enrolled, the outlet reported. The results of the analysis disturbed school committee member Lorna Rivera, according to GBH News. Rivera reportedly noted that nearly 60% of fourth-graders in the program in one of the district’s schools were white even though most third-graders enrolled in the school are Hispanic and black. “This is just not acceptable,” Rivera said at a recent meeting, according to GBH News. “I’ve never heard these statistics before, and I’m very very disturbed by them.” The program was open to all students in the school district who took ...
