A migrant bused to Washington, D.C., was given a “Pelosi” bag by a local nonprofit, the migrant and her mother told the Daily Caller News Foundation. The migrant, an 11-year old girl, and her mother traveled for over three months with their family from Venezuela, they told the DCNF Tuesday as they awaited a bus to New York. The DCNF was unable to identify the volunteer or organization that may have donated the bag. (RELATED: ‘Horrific’: NYC Mayor Slams Texas Gov. Abbott For Bringing The Border To His City) The Dianne Von Furstenburg bag is listed on ebay as a “Nancy Pelosi Heart 25 Tan Canvas Tote Bag.” It’s also listed by an independent seller on Poshmark as a “Pelosi Canvas Tote Bag.” A spokesperson for Catholic Charities, a nongovernmental organization with a branch in Washington that was helping the arriving migrants until June 8, told the DCNF that the bag could have come from a rogue volunteer. “You might want to be cautious about the information from the migrant. … [Read more...] about EXCLUSIVE: Migrant Bused To DC Says Local Non-Profit Gave Her A ‘Pelosi’ Tote Bag

Kaiser is canceling mental health appointments ahead of strikes, union claims
The health care union organizing an upcoming strike of more than 2,000 Kaiser Permanente mental health workers said Thursday that the health care giant was illegally canceling appointments ahead of the planned labor action. The National Union of Healthcare Workers filed a complaint with state officials Thursday accusing Kaiser officials of canceling or suspending mental and behavioral health services citing the workers’ strike, which is set to begin on Monday. Reasons for strike include worker complaints over high wait times for patients — weeks or even months, according to the union — as well as high workloads and burnout among staff. According to state law, Kaiser would have to continue providing timely health care to patients, even during the strike: If in-network services are not available, Kaiser must arrange for out-of-network care for its patients at the same cost, according to SB221, a California law passed last year requiring health plans to provide timely access to … [Read more...] about Kaiser is canceling mental health appointments ahead of strikes, union claims
Latvia, Estonia leave China-backed East Europe forum
BEIJING (AP) — Latvia and Estonia say they have left a Chinese-backed forum aimed at boosting relations with Eastern European countries, in what appears to be a new setback for China's increasingly assertive diplomacy. The move follows China’s boosting of its relations with Russia, whose invasion of Ukraine is seen as a possible first step in a series of moves against countries that were once part of the Soviet Union. China has refused to criticize Russia and has condemned punishing economic sanctions imposed on Moscow by the West. Weeks before the invasion, Chinese President and Communist Party leader Xi Jinping hosted Russian President Vladimir Putin in Beijing and declared their bilateral relations had “no limits" in a joint statement. The move also comes after Beijing launched economic and diplomatic retaliation against another Baltic state, Lithuania, in retaliation for its expanded ties with the self-governing island democracy of Taiwan, which China claims as its own … [Read more...] about Latvia, Estonia leave China-backed East Europe forum

Liz Cheney: Any Mention of McCarthy, Stefanik Makes Her ‘Really Angry’
Any mention of Reps. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and Elise Stefanik (R-NY) makes her very angry, Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) told the Atlantic in a published article by Mark Leibovich on Friday. Cheney’s anger comes after McCarthy led a vote of no confidence against her among Republican House members in May. The vote forced her to exit the third most powerful position in the GOP House caucus, the conference chair, whose responsibility it is to raise money for the party. A few days later, Stefanik was elected Republican conference chair Friday by a secret ballot vote of 134-46. “I’m truly honored and humbled to earn the support of my colleagues to serve as House Republican Conference Chair,” Stefanik said after the vote. “House Republicans are united in our focus to fight on behalf of the American people to save our country from the radical Socialist Democrat agenda of President Biden and Nancy Pelosi.” Cheney has since allied herself with the Democrats, holding hearings with them on … [Read more...] about Liz Cheney: Any Mention of McCarthy, Stefanik Makes Her ‘Really Angry’
