Eight. That’s the number of times Tina Fey returned to “Saturday Night Live” to systematically destroy then-Republican Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin. Several of those performances came after Fey made headlines for “retiring” the Palin parody character. Even so, his reticence to hold Saudi Arabia accountable for what appears for all the world to be the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi is reprehensible. It’s hard to escape the notion that Trump is putting the sanctity of big-money deals over the life of a journalist who called the United States home. What we’re saying Debate upshot: Sen. Dianne Feinstein took the debate stage against an opponent for the first time in 18 years. Actually, it was more of “a conversation” in San Francisco with challenger (and fellow Democrat) Kevin de León, moderated by Mark Baldassare of the Public Policy Institute of California. Who won? Our editorial gives the clear edge to Feinstein, whose performance effectively defused the age issue. … [Read more...] about Trump deflects, Feinstein debates … we analyze

(CNN)Apparently, the House Republicans' best defense of Donald Trump from impeachment is to distract from the truth and instead push Trump's outlandish conspiracy theories. That was made clear from the letter Rep. Devin Nunes (R-California) sent to House Intelligence Committee chair Rep. Adam Schiff (D-California) on Saturday. Dean Obeidallah It listed the witnesses the Republicans are seeking to call in defense of Trump during the ongoing impeachment hearings. (Schiff still has to approve them in order to testify.) The individuals the House Republicans want America to hear from include Alexandra Chalupa, a Ukrainian American who worked with the Democratic National Committee. Nunes writes that Chalupa will be a … [Read more...] about Since Republicans want Hunter Biden to testify, Democrats should call Ivanka Trump
