UPPER DARBY, Pa. (CBS) — A shooting at a Delaware County cemetery has left one person injured. Police are now trying to confirm if the incident is in retaliation for a shooting that, they say, happened in Philadelphia just days ago. Chopper 3 showed the aftermath of what was a frenetic burial for a recent gunshot victim at the Friends Southwestern Burial Ground. READ MORE: WATCH LIVE: Philadelphia Officials To Provide COVID-19 Vaccination Program Update Police say two suspects on foot started shooting into the mourners, striking two people that they know of around 11:30 a.m. Thursday, sending one to surgery. An investigation into whether the shooting is retaliatory is active. “The investigation is open, but the funeral here today was from a shooting victim in the city from a few days ago and there was a shooting here today because of it,” Upper Darby Police Superintendent Timothy Bernhardt said. St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church sits just across the street. Father Gregory Gilbert has seen his share of violence at this cemetery. He says there was a shooting just a month ago in front of the church and has been begging the cemetery for over two years to have a police presence for the funerals of gunshot victims. During the scramble to get out of the cemetery, two cars were involved in a minor accident as well. Police say there is only one exit out of the cemetery and they’re confident security cameras will reveal the two suspects who fled on foot from the shooting. “We are working with the cemetery and the director here to make sure that we’re notified that there is a burial so if that there is a large crowd — and mainly because of the traffic here in this street, to be ...

GOP Sen. Kennedy: Only Way to Improve Pelosi Coronavirus Bill ‘Is with a Shredder’
During an appearance on Fox News on Wednesday, Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) railed against the $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief legislation passed by the House days earlier. Kennedy speculated on ways it could be improved and said one tool would be a shredder. “Look at President Biden’s $2 trillion coronavirus bill,” he said. “He gives money to people in his bill who are in our country illegally. Well, that’s obviously an incentive to people to come here illegally and a disincentive to people to follow the rules. And if I couldn’t say a word about the coronavirus bill.” “President Biden, because we’re going to be taking it up tomorrow – – President Biden said in putting together the bill, he said we want you, us, the Republicans halfway,” Kennedy continued. “If that’s the case, he’s a damn poor judge of distance. He has rejected everything we’ve proposed. This bill is dreadful. The only way I know how to improve it is with a shredder. It’s not even a coronavirus bill. Calling this a coronavirus bill is like calling Harvey Weinstein a feminist.” “It’s chock full of spending, pouring billions of dollars to states and local governments that have seen their revenues go up, billions of dollars to pension programs, billions of dollars to schools with no requirement that they open,” he added. “It’s an orgy of pork, and using a so-called coronavirus bill as an excuse to fund pork is my natural disaster. It is.” Follow Jeff Poor on Twitter @jeff_poor ...
