UM BWMC submitted a project that addressed the current paradigm of critical illness. The critical care team typically cares for patients shortly before transfer to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), when a rapid response team is activated on admitted patients and during the ICU stay. Each year more patients survive ICU admissions resulting in new conditions, increased morbidity and new healthcare needs.
