The American College of Sports Medicine on Tuesday released its annual fittest cities rankings. The researchers assessed the 100 largest cities based on 33 indicators related to health behaviors, chronic disease and community infrastructure. Irving was ranked the 78th fittest in the country, just ahead of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and behind Jacksonville, Florida. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released findings on Tuesday of 121 coronavirus-related deaths (around 0.08% of all deaths) among U.S. kids reported to the health agency by July 31. Though COVID-19 infections tend to run a milder course in younger populations, complications do happen, the agency said. Unifrance and Film at Lincoln Center have unveiled the lineup for the 28th edition of Rendez-Vous With French Cinema , an annual celebration of contemporary French filmmaking. The event will take place March 2–12. It kicks off with a screening of Alice Winocour’s “Revoir Paris,” which stars Virginie Efira as a translator named Mia, who survived a mass shooting in a Paris restaurant and is unable to resume life as usual. In an effort to regain a sense of normalcy, Mia returns repeatedly to the site of the shooting, forming bonds with her fellow survivors. Tanks for Ukraine Yesterday, Germany and the U.S. pledged to send tanks to Ukraine after weeks of diplomatic maneuvering. The pledges could unlock a wave of additional aid ahead of an expected escalation of fighting in the spring. It could take a year or more for 31 American M1 Abrams tanks to reach the battlefield. But the U.S. promise did clear the way for Germany to commit to sending 14 of its Leopard 2 tanks , which could arrive in several months. The decision by Germany to authorize other nations to transfer their own Leopards prompted officials in Finland, the Netherlands and Spain to say that they would seek to send tanks to Ukraine, or that they were open to doing so.
