Joe Biden Calls Supreme Court Decision to Overturn Roe v. Wade a ‘Tragic Error’

June 24, 2022 by www.breitbart.com Leave a Comment

President Joe Biden reacted to the decision by the Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade on Friday, expressing his strong disagreement with their decision. “It just stuns me,” Biden said, pausing as he read his speech from the teleprompter. “Imagine a young woman having to carry a child as the consequence of incest with no option.” The president decried the decision by the Supreme Court as “cruel” and leaving a “dark shadow” on the country by removing the right to abortion in many states. “It’s a realization of an extreme ideology and a tragic error by the Supreme Court in my view,” Biden said, calling it a “sad day for the court and for the country.” The president also warned the decision threatened Supreme Court recognition of the right to use contraception and the right to gay marriage. “This is an extreme and dangerous path the court is now taking us on,” he said. Biden blamed former President Donald Trump for nominating three justices to the Supreme Court who … [Read more...] about Joe Biden Calls Supreme Court Decision to Overturn Roe v. Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) claimed Friday the Supreme Court’s decision takes away women’s liberty, and he vowed to “fight like hell.” “The Supreme Court has stripped women of their liberty and let red states replace it with mandated birth. This is an attack on American freedom,” Newsom wrote in a social media post. “CA, OR and WA are creating the West Coast offensive. A road map for other states to stand up for women. Time to fight like hell,” he concluded: The Supreme Court has stripped women of their liberty and let red states replace it with mandated birth. This is an attack on American freedom. Getting Answers: What Supreme Court Decision On New York Concealed Carry Law Means For California

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — The U.S. Supreme Court on Thursday issued a ruling on gun laws by striking a New York state law that restricted who is able to carry a concealed weapon in public. The law, similar to California’s, requires applicants to “demonstrate” good cause or a special need for self-defense. In California, concealed carry weapon permits are issued by local law enforcement, either a city’s chief of police or sheriff. Experts in gun laws and use in California agree that permits are more easily accessible in rural jurisdictions and more difficult to obtain in metropolitan cities. Based on the Supreme Court’s ruling, however, that may change, a law professor at UC Davis School of Law told CBS13. READ MORE: Amazon Alexa Will Be Able To Mimic Deceased Loved Ones' Voices “The effect will be that individuals in California will be able to carry guns in public. BALTIMORE (WJZ) — The Supreme Court has ruled 6–3 to strike down a gun law in New York—and the impact of that decision will trickle down to Maryland. In doing so, it gave Americans the right to carry firearms in public for self-defense purposes. READ MORE: Maryland Weather: Summer Showers Will Interrupt A Series Of Warm Days This controversial ruling by the conservative majority court could have a major impact on Maryland and several other states that have a similar law to New York’s law, which requires people to show “proper cause” to get a license to carry a concealed handgun outside their home. WJZ spoke to folks on both sides of this debate along with legal experts to learn more about how today’s decision could affect Maryland’s concealed carry law. “I think it’s very important—not just for New York—but for how other gun laws are going to be evaluated as well,” Duke Center for Firearms Law Co-Director Joseph Blocher said. Jackson Women’s Health Organization decision was released on Friday morning. (credit CBS) People started gathering at the state Capitol to show both support and opposition to the decision. Copter4 flew over the area which showed some protesters had spilled out onto Lincoln Street. (credit CBS) The Supreme Court ruled on Roe v. Wade in 1973, establishing that women have a right to get an abortion before a fetus could survive outside of its mother’s womb — typically around 24 weeks of pregnancy. After this time, states could choose to restrict abortion – as long as there were exceptions to preserve the life or health of a pregnant woman. (credit CBS) The Supreme Court ruling overturns Roe v. Wade, which means that states regain power to regulate abortion. … [Read more...] about Crowds protest at state Capitol after Supreme Court decision overturning Roe V. Wade

Wade “I am so angered that we’re going backwards,” said Stephanie S. “I feel disrespected. I feel like my voice doesn’t matter. I feel like I don’t have a choice to my own body.
