ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — An executive with Netflix says the streaming giant has boosted its original content exponentially over the last several years and that will mean more action for its production hub in New Mexico, where state officials have been busy trying to woo more big partners in the industry. (AP Photo/Susan Montoya Bryan) Nick Maniatis, who ran the state’s film office before going to work for Netflix, spoke to a group of hundreds of business leaders and elected officials who were gathered Thursday in Albuquerque. He described it as a “golden era,” saying the amount of content that’s out there is amazing. “A year ago you could say all the major studios — take Disney, Warner Bros., Paramount, Fox, all of them combined — would do about 300 or 400 projects a year. In Henderson, Raiders’ future headquarters reflects a fast-growing city
HENDERSON, Nev. — A sign on the site of the practice facility and headquarters being built here for an NFL team reads: “Future Home of the Las Vegas Raiders.” Not that Teddy Clifton needs the reminder. Clifton, a Raiders fan from their time in Los Angeles, manages a storage facility just up the road. He also lives on site, which makes it easy to keep tabs on the construction. “I can see it right off my balcony,” Clifton said. “I’m like, ‘What up?!’ every day.” While the Raiders’ new $2 billion stadium goes up near the Las Vegas Strip, their headquarters, where the team will practice and base operations, is taking shape in nearby Henderson. Features of the Henderson facility include three outdoor practice fields, one and a half indoor practice fields, a performance center with amenities for players, and office space. Construction began in January and is projected to be completed by next July. Unlike the Raiders’ new … [Read more...] about In Henderson, Raiders’ future headquarters reflects a fast-growing city
