House lawmakers voted Thursday in favor of amended legislation turning the land over to the public entity, after the measure was passed by the Senate last week. The bill, which would mean sale of the land to the park district for $1 , now heads to the desk of Gov. J.B. Pritzker. Sen. Lisa Marie Farver , Patch Staff Posted Reply NAPERVILLE, IL —An abundance of algae is to blame for the greenish hue of the water many visitors noticed at Centennial Beach. during the park's recent reopening. Park district officials took to social media to explain the natural phenomenon and to reassure guests that the water was still safe for swimming. "The recent lack of rain and warm temperatures have led to an increase in algae growth in many bodies of water, including Centennial Beach, which caused the water to become greener in color earlier in the week," a post on the Naperville Park District's Facebook page.
