City News Service , News Partner Posted Reply SAN DIEGO, CA — A 41-year-old man was seriously wounded Sunday when a suspect inside a black SUV fired shots at him in the parking lot of the Bahia Resort Hotel, in the Mission Beach community of San Diego, authorities said. The man was with a group of pedestrians walking westbound through the hotel's parking lot, 998 W. Mission Bay Drive, where the black SUV was driving in circles through at about 12:15 a.m., the San Diego Police Department reported. The vehicle pulled up next to the group and someone from inside fired shots at them. The SUV fled the scene in an unknown direction. Police received a call at 12:36 a.m. of someone reporting that a friend had been shot at Silver Wing Park, 3600 Arey Drive, the San Diego Police Department said. Arriving officers reported finding a man in the street in front of the park, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Paramedics rushed him to a hospital in serious condition. Use Next and Previous buttons to navigate 6 In a little valley ringed by trees on the edge of the Presidio of San Francisco is a lost cemetery containing the graves of hundreds of merchant seamen, buried years ago and forgotten. The graves are unmarked and the names of many buried there are unknown. The cemetery itself, located just beyond the closed Public Health Service Hospital near 15th Avenue and Lake Street, is invisible. The graves, which once had neat wooden headstones enclosed by a fence, were buried under 16 feet of debris from excavations of a missile site in the 1950s. A parking lot was built at the same time over one corner of the graveyard and a tennis court over another. And then the cemetery was forgotten -- literally covered up.
