A juvenile was shot and killed in East Oakland in the early hours of Friday morning, police said. Oakland police said that officers responded to reports of a shooting at the 8000 block of Dowling Street around 1:30 a.m. At the scene, they found a juvenile Oakland resident with gunshot wounds. He died at the scene. Oakland police did not immediately respond to questions about the boy’s age or about whether they had a suspect. They are not releasing the name of the victim until next of kin are notified of the death. Colorado takes a tougher stand against business identity fraud
Combatting personal identity fraud has been a long-running battle, and in Colorado, officials are getting more aggressive in trying to stop business identity fraud as well. The Colorado Secretary of State on Monday launched a new online tool where people can report fraudulent business filings, defined as when a bad actor creates a new business using someone else’s address or personal information without their written consent, modifies an existing business registration without consent, or takes over a current registration for fraudulent purposes. Two gang members have been arrested in connection with the massacre of six people, including a baby, inside a California home , one after a gunfight with authorities. Tulare County Sheriff Mike Boudreaux said Noah David Beard, 25, was taken into custody without incident and Angel "Nanu" Uriarte, 35, was wounded in the shootout with federal agents and was undergoing surgery.
