Despite being in development for nearly a decade, an avalanche of production issues when filming actually started, distinctly average reviews and criticisms about its depiction of Freddie Mercury, Bohemian Rhapsody has proven to be a cultural phenomenon. Not only has it taken in over $740 million worldwide, making it the highest grossing music biopic of all time, but it recently won the two biggest awards at the Golden Globes, as it was named Best Picture and Rami Malek picked up Best Actor, too. Was John Deacon involved in Bohemian Rhapsody? But while Queen members Brian May and Roger Taylor have been heavily involved in the film since the very beginning, to the point that they have executive music producer credits, very little has been heard about bassist John Deacon’s contribution. But how involved was John Deacon in Bohemian Rhapsody? “He was not around at all,” confirms Jan Sewell, the make-up and hair designer for Bohemian Rhapsody. “I … [Read more...] about Was John Deacon involved in Bohemian Rhapsody?
The 2018-19 high school basketball season is barely a week old and most teams are still trying to figure out roles for each player and how team chemistry might eventually work out. That was certainly the case for teams from Soddy Daisy and Red Bank Tuesday night at Soddy Daisy. Based on the final score, the visiting Lions did a better job of filling in the blanks than the Trojans and headed back home with a 69-54 victory. The Red Bank girls were also victorious as they pulled away in the final quarter for a 45-30 victory. The Lions ended their football season with a disappointing loss at Upperman Friday night, but those gridders who plan to also play basketball didn’t waste any time shifting gears and turning their attention to an indoor sport. Red Bank coach Nick Fike will be glad when they get in basketball shape, but he’s just glad to have them on his bench, even if they’ve only had one day to practice. “That was an ugly win, but I’ll always take … [Read more...] about Tory Sewell Leads Red Bank Past Soddy Daisy

In many ways, the Amazon series The Man in the High Castle is as much a work of science fiction as it is a period piece. After all, it’s an alternative history that imagines a world in which Nazi Germany and the Empire of Japan won World War II, which is set to head into some pretty funky directions for The Man in the High Castle season 3. For the majority of its first season, the show stuck to author Philip K. Dick’s original novel and largely avoided the more mind-bending aspects of parallel dimensions, the multiverse and other similarly speculative concepts. Season 2 dove somewhat deeper, but remained as close as it possibly could to the grounded reality beneath its characters’ feet. The Man in the High Castle season 3, which premieres this Friday, largely abandons these restraints and goes all in. The Nazis have discovered the multiverse, as well as the so-called “travelers,” or individuals who are capable of moving from one … [Read more...] about Rufus Sewell is ready to conquer the multiverse in The Man in the High Castle season 3
