Photo: Thierry Chesnot/Getty Images Extreme nationalism, by its nature, requires its adherents to form judgments about the nature of foreign countries that are clear-cut, but also wildly inconsistent over time, as the interests and alliances of one’s own country inevitably mutate. Many back strict gun laws, but opposition tends to be louder
This is a carousel. Use Next and Previous buttons to navigate 7 WASHINGTON (AP) — Majorities of U.S. adults think mass shootings would occur less often if guns were harder to get, and that schools and other public places have become less safe than they were two decades ago, polling shows. Still, public attitudes on guns and gun policy are complicated, and the issue has seen little by way of federal legislative changes in more than a decade. Reforms will meet Republican resistance both in Congress and state legislatures and are unlikely to advance. While it’s not unusual for polling to show higher support for restrictions among the general public after a mass shooting, attitudes on gun regulation are overall rather stable over time, said John Roman, senior fellow at NORC at the … [Read more...] about Many back strict gun laws, but opposition tends to be louder

Sen. Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has instructed Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) to work with Democrats to achieve “bipartisan” gun control legislation. CNN notes that McConnell specifically talked of working with Sens. Chris Murphy (D-CT) and Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) to secure new gun controls, but did not provide detail as to what the new controls might be. McConnell said: I met with Senator Cornyn this morning. As you know he went home yesterday to see the family members and begin the fact finding of this awful massacre and I have encouraged him to talk with Sen. Murphy and Sen. Sinema and others who are interested in trying to get an outcome that is directly related to the problem. I am hopeful that we could come up with a bipartisan solution. Cornyn commented on his role as McConnell’s gun control liaison, saying: There’s a whole list of things that we can consider, but I think particularly mental health, access to mental health treatment is high on that list. I … [Read more...] about McConnell Taps Sen. Cornyn to Work Toward ‘Bipartisan’ Gun Control
Nolte: CNN Admits ‘It’s Time to Prepare for a Recession’
CNN, a far-left propaganda outlet that spreads conspiracy theories and political violence, published a warning to its readers: “It’s time to prepare for a recession.” The article is an opinion piece, but CNNLOL decides what it will not publish, and things must be looking really, really bad if CNN allows something like this. Welcome to the party, pal! I’ve been telling y’all for over a year a recession is inevitable. This is not rocket science. Energy *is* the economy, and when energy costs explode, as it has under His Fraudulency, there goes the economy.
