October 3, 2017 by kentuckymonthly Leave a Comment

× Expand photo-frames-with-retro-edges-vector Sitting up in his sick bed, he could hear the chaos in the courtyard outside—the roar of cannon, the crack of musket fire, the screams in Spanish and English of wounded and dying men. He knew it was only a matter of minutes before they smashed in the door to his chamber, but with a single-shot pistol in each hand and his fabled knife in his lap, he was as ready as fevered resolve and desperation could make him.  Suddenly, the heavy door gave way with a crash as a horde of wild-eyed Mexican soldiers poured in. Jim Bowie, Southern entrepreneur, Texas pioneer and fabled knife-fighter, was dead. At least, so goes the legend. July 25, 2018 by rollcall Leave a Comment

Rep. Jim Jordan, the founding chairman of the House Freedom Caucus, officially announced Thursday his intentions to run for speaker in a “Dear Colleague” letter to House Republicans, a development sure to hearten conservatives as the midterms get into high gear.  Jordan is the first person to launch an official campaign for speaker, but others are interested in the job. Incumbent Speaker Paul D. Ryan is retiring after this term.  House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy has effectively said he will run, although he has not yet made a formal declaration of his candidacy. “I’m spending the time keeping the majority,” McCarthy told NBC News when asked about Jordan’s announcement. For both Jordan and McCarthy to run for speaker, Republicans would need to retain their House majority this November, an outcome that far from certain. If Democrats take control of the chamber, Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said she plans to run for … [Read more...] about Jim Jordan Announces Bid for Speaker

Fox News host Sean Hannity appeared to endorse Republican Rep. Jim Jordan’s long-shot bid for House speaker on Friday in an interview with the founding member of the Freedom Caucus. “If you become the speaker — and look, I will support you for speaker, because I think the Freedom Caucus has been the most committed to fighting to keep their promises and literally the single biggest group fighting to defend the things that are conservative in the country and have helped the president the most,” Hannity said on his Friday-night show.Story Continued Below Jordan, an Ohio conservative firebrand and Trump loyalist who earlier this week spearheaded an unsuccessful effort to impeach Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, is challenging retiring House Speaker Paul Ryan’s preferred replacement, House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy. July 19, 2018 by indybay Leave a Comment

Oklahoma GOP Senator finally ended his annual fundraiser pigeon shoot murder after several years but continues his mammal murder votes. In 2017 after perhaps 10 years of the annual pigeon murder, Oklahoma Republican senator Jim Inhofe stopped the brutal pigeon shoot. However 1. he continues voting for the murder of trillions of animals in illegal immoral wars, whose 21 trillion $ cost keeps Oklahomans from having decent schools, 2. he continues to be the pawn of Oklahoma centibillionaire cattle rancher butchers who have murdered billions of mammals cruelly while causing diseases to those who eat them, and baking the planet in 3 digit temperatures through deforestation and methane gas, 3. he continues supporting AETA which is law because he and Senator Izakson were 2 of 4 original cosponsors still in the Senate 4. he voted to allow hunting in Alaska's national park and the murder of hibernating bears and wolf cubs etc. 5. Inhofe is also a pawn of oil frackers who have with the … [Read more...] about Oklahoma Republican Senator Jim Inhofe’s Bloody Record : Indybay
