Senior guard Marcus Sasser suffered a groin injury during last weekend's American Athletic Conference tournament semifinals and missed the championship game, a loss to Memphis, as a result. Sasser returned to the starting lineup for the opening round of March Madness, as UH beat Northern Kentucky 63-52 . But he only played 14 minutes, registering five points and two rebounds, and did not see the floor in the second half. Speaking with the media in the UH locker room following the 89-75 defeat at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Walker—a projected lottery pick in this year's NBA draft—discussed his future. The American Athletic Conference freshman of the year announced publicly for the first time that he will be declaring for the draft. This development hardly comes as a surprise. Houston head coach Kelvin Sampson revealed on his radio show earlier this month that Walker—who was the No. 1 power forward in the country coming out high school last year, according to ESPN—would be turning pro after the season.
