While we waited for the debut of Obi-Wan Kenobi in late May—not long after Kennedy said this now-infamous line—Disney announced a whole slew of new projects in one fell swoop: the game Star Wars Jedi: Survivor ; animated anthology series Tales of the Jedi ; and a February 2023 release for The Mandalorian Season 3 . This all came out alongside the first teaser for the series’ next spin-off of a spin-off , Andor . Leslye Headland shared a bit about her upcoming show The Acolyte with Vanity Fair in a new interview, teasing what’s next for our beloved galaxy far, far away. As Lucasfilm continues its massive celebration of Star Wars a day after the original film’s 45th anniversary, having already dropped a trailer for Willow , the company also debuted the very first look at another upcoming series. Following Friday's Disney+ release of Obi-Wan Kenobi comes Andor , which unpacks the underdog story of Luna’s character before the events of Rogue One . But it’s almost an entire minute—half the trailer—until we finally see Andor’s big return. After that, radio silence from the titular character. Seriously. Disney+ is becoming The Star Wars Channel , by the looks of a new Vanity Fair cover story laying out the future of the rebellion. While the streamer has announced upcoming series like Andor , Ahsoka , and The Mandalorian Season 3, we’ve gotten little in the way of actual descriptions of these creations—until now. The biggest news, by far, was the announcement of a previously unannounced show from Spider-Man: Homecoming ’s Jon Watts . And, like Disney’s classic tales and the current Spider-Man saga, the show will be a coming-of-age romp. Right now, its code name is Grammar Rodeo —a reference which derives from a Season 7 episode of The Simpsons called “Bart on the Road,” in which Bart and his fourth grade pals go on a road trip with a stolen car they can’t drive. Hundreds of people wore Star Wars costumes of their favorite movie character as they participated in the parade through downtown Joliet. Congressman Bill Foster, Mayor Bob O'Dekirk, Councilwoman Jan Quillman and Joliet Public Library Director Megan Millen kicked off the start of the parade as thousands of people gathered along Chicago Street to watch the 11 a.m. parade.
