Trump Repeatedly Pressured Justice Department to Help Overturn Election

According to a second Times report published on Saturday, central Pennsylvania Representative Scott Perry was the one who introduced Trump to Clark, thus providing Trump with a like-minded ally in the Justice Department, albeit a low-level one who would ordinarily not have any contacts with the president. Perry, a member of the ultra-conservative Freedom Caucus in the House, had been one of the Republican lawmakers in Congress spreading false claims of election fraud in the November election.
