When warnings from county health departments don’t result in action, California’s Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control has even more leeway to handle restaurant violations. The department can fine businesses, revoke liquor licenses and issue criminal misdemeanor citations to businesses for violating COVID-19 protocols.
