Maggie Fusek , Patch Staff Posted | Updated Reply PORT COSTA, CA — An Amtrak train carrying 55 passengers derailed Tuesday afternoon in a weather-related incident near Port Costa but there were no injuries, according to the Crockett-Carquinez Fire Department. The train hit a downed tree shortly after 3 p.m., causing it to go off the track about a half-mile east of Port Costa at Carquinez Scenic and Regional Shoreline Park. The incident caused several Capitol Corridor delays. Capitol Corridor reported a two-hour delay on Train 536 from Berkeley. Train 534 was delayed out of Richmond and Train 543 was held at Martinez. Train 545 out of Sacramento and Trains 548 and 549 out of Martinez were both canceled, Capitol Corridor said in an update on Twitter .
