I was an FBI Special Agent and if Biden won’t fix a bureau in crisis, it will be destroyed
close Video Former top FBI official arrested over Russia scandal Fox News correspondent Rich Edson discusses former FBI official Charlie McGonigal and his relations with Russia on ‘Special Report.’ NEW You can now listen to Fox News articles! The FBI is in crisis . It pains me, as a former special agent and the former chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, to warn that if we don’t fix it now, we risk irrevocably breaking not only the greatest law enforcement agency in the world, but America’s trust in this invaluable institution. If you needed any more graphic evidence of institutional and cultural rot affecting the bureau, just this week Charles McGonigal , the former special agent in charge of counterintelligence in the FBI's New York field office was arrested for ties to Oleg Deripaska, a sanctioned Russian oligarch. It should be common sense that a senior agent should not be working for a criminal, any … [Read more...] about I was an FBI Special Agent and if Biden won’t fix a bureau in crisis, it will be destroyed

Eurocrats Demand More Deportations As Illegal Migrant Crossings Spike
Senior officials within the European Union are now demanding deportations increase amid a spike in illegal migrant arrivals into the bloc. The European Commission is looking for the EU and its member states to increase the number of deportations enforced against illegal migrants. Having seen a massive spike in illegal immigration back in 2015 and 2016, the union has once again seen a large spike in what it calls “irregular” border crossings, with hundreds of thousands of individuals entering the bloc in an uncontrolled manner last year. Such a spike in arrivals also saw a spike in deportation orders, though, according to POLITICO , the EU has a problem with effectively removing illegal migrants from its territory, with only 24 per cent of the 342,100 people requested to be removed by European authorities actually being sent to a non-EU member nation in 2021. It now appears Brussels wants to at least be seen as taking steps to remedy this situation, with the EU’s Home … [Read more...] about Eurocrats Demand More Deportations As Illegal Migrant Crossings Spike
In China’s Crackdown on Protesters, a Familiar Effort to Blame Foreign Powers
First, the accountant and the freelance writer were taken away. Then, the former tutor with a degree in English literature. And several days later, the police came for the editor at the Beijing publishing house. The four detained women were friends. They spent their free time in China’s capital as many curious, creative-minded young people did: hosting book clubs, watching movies, discussing social issues like feminism and L.G.B.T.Q. rights over barbecue. When protests against coronavirus restrictions broke out in November across China , including in Beijing, they attended. And now, they are among the first people known to have been formally arrested in connection with those protests. China is waging a campaign of intimidation against people who joined the demonstrations, which were the boldest challenge to the Communist Party’s rule in decades and an embarrassing affront to its leader, Xi Jinping. The party seems determined to warn off anyone who may have been emboldened by … [Read more...] about In China’s Crackdown on Protesters, a Familiar Effort to Blame Foreign Powers
Chinese Authorities Appear to Detain 4 Human Rights Lawyers
HONG KONG — The police detained one of China ’s most prominent human rights lawyers in Beijing on Friday, after three other rights lawyers who worked together disappeared in the capital within 24 hours, apparently caught in an expanding investigation focused on their firm, their colleagues and family members said. The reasons for moves against the lawyers remained unclear. But it appeared to be another step in the Communist Party’s campaign to use criminal investigations to crush China’s “rights defense” movement , which has used litigation and advocacy to challenge party restrictions on expression, the legal system and political life, several lawyers and rights advocates said. “We’re used to seeing lawyers detained at a courtroom, but this seems like it’s different,” said William Nee, a China researcher at Amnesty International in Hong Kong. “It looks like a large-scale, coordinated thing, rather than catch and release. It has the potential to be a lot more serious.” The … [Read more...] about Chinese Authorities Appear to Detain 4 Human Rights Lawyers
