ROCKLIN (CBS13) — Rocklin police arrested a student for making a threat toward Rocklin High School on Monday. In an email sent to parents, the school’s principal said the administration learned of information circulating on social media and within the school community about a student making threats toward the school Monday morning. Principal Davis Stewart said there were not any specific details in the threat, but it was enough to alarm students and parents. Administrators said they did not find any immediate danger but confirmed the threat had been made, so they alerted police, who later arrested the student involved. New Norwalk High School To Be Built Largely With State Funds
NORWALK, CT — A new Norwalk High School is slated to be built at the site of the current school on Calvin Murphy Drive in Norwalk, and 80 percent of the funding for the new project will come from state coffers, according to officials.The new facility will measure 337,000 square feet and house 2,000 students from three educational programs, the high school, an expanded P-Tech Middle College (formerly known as Norwalk Early College Academy) and the Norwalk Visual and Performing Arts Academy. Approximately half of the 2,000 students will be from P-Tech and the performing arts academy. BSO: 16-Year-Old Arrested For Making Threats To Cypress Bay High School In Weston
WESTON (CBSMiami) – The Broward Sheriff’s Office announced Monday night that they have arrested a 16-year-old boy for making threats to Cypress Bay High School in Weston. Cypress Bay was placed on a code red last Friday after school employees received warnings there would be a shooting at the school. On Friday, both the school and investigators searched for the source of the threat, but to no avail. The threats continued Monday, so the school was placed on code yellow. This time, however, detectives were able to locate the source, arresting a Cypress Bay junior. The teen was taken to the Juvenile Assessment Center. He faces two counts for making a false report concerning the use of a firearm and two counts for writing threats to kill. PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Philadelphia police say a 17-year-old student is in custody after Northeast High School officers found two bullets in his possession. The school located on the 1600 block of Cottman Avenue was placed on lockdown shortly before 11 a.m. (credit: CBS3) No gun has yet been located. Police are currently searching the school.
