FLORAL PARK, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) — A high school security guard on Long Island is facing charges for allegedly sexually assaulting a teenager. Twenty-two-year-old Daniel Valenzuela, of Elmont, was arrested Friday morning. Nassau County police say Valenzuela repeatedly sexually assaulted a 15-year-old girl between June and October 2019. Valenzuela was working as a security guard at Seawanhaka High School in Floral Park at the time. He has been charged with first and third degree criminal sexual acts. MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Heavy rain and flash flooding from Tropical Storm Karen will continue over Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. At 11 p.m., the center of the storm was about 85 miles northeast of San Juan, Puerto Rico. It was moving to the north-northeast at 14 mph with 45 mph winds. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 80 miles to the southeast of the center. Some strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours. Karen should continue to move toward the north-northeast through Wednesday night. On the forecast track, the center of Karen will move away from Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands during the next few hours, but the strong squalls which are to the south of the center will continue to affect that area through Tuesday night. MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Hurricane Jerry expected to pass well north of the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico on Saturday. At 11 p.m., the center of the storm was about 160 miles north of Anguilla. It was moving to the west-northwest at 16 mph with maximum sustained winds of 80 mph. Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 15 miles from the center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 90 miles. The hurricane is forecast to recurve over the western Atlantic during the next few days. On the forecast track, the center of Jerry will pass well north of the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico on Saturday, pass well east of the southeastern Bahamas on Sunday, and turn northward over the western Atlantic on Monday. Little change in strength is forecast during the several days, and Jerry could remain a hurricane through Monday.
