EAST HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) - Three people were taken into custody on Thursday after East Hartford police said a vehicle led them on a pursuit.According to officials, around 3:00 p.m., an officer attempted to stop a vehicle for motor vehicle violations in the area of Main Street and Wells Avenue.The vehicle then allegedly fled the scene, striking the officer's cruiser.Police then pursued the offending vehicle to Interstate 84 where the chase was halted.Connecticut State Police then pursued the vehicle into Hartford.News 8's Bob Wilson reports the offending vehicle was eventually stopped at Broad Street and Brownell Street after it hit a curb and sustained two flat tires.The three were then taken into custody.Officials say the officer involved in the collision was not hurt.News 8 will update this story with more information as it becomes available. … [Read more...] about 3 in custody after vehicle strikes East Hartford police cruiser, leads officers on pursuit
NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. — The offices of the Town of New Hartford will be moving to the former Gander Mountain location in the Orchard Mall. The town bought the property for $1.9 million in a deal that closed June 28, according to a Town of New Hartford news release. The 50,000-square-foot building will house all town offices, the police department, courts, a community-meeting room, and a senior-services center for the Town of New Hartford. Town Supervisor Paul Miscione proposed the project after “extensive” research in locating an area for the new offices.
