The incident occurred about 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Highland Elementary School, police said. A person employed by a nonprofit involved with an after-school program was leaving the building when the child threatened the worker and flashed what looked to be a firearm, according to police. The employee returned to the school and called 911, and law enforcement found the child in the nearby neighborhood, police said.
