She graduated from McLain High School in 1988. She completed her training to be a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Tulsa Technology Center in 1995. In 2005, she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, graduated Cum Lade, received the Florence Nightingale Award, and became a Registered Nurse (RN) while studying at Langston University. In 2009, Anita received a Master of Science degree, as well as awards for Outstanding Academic Achievement and Excellence in Clinical Nursing Practice from the University of Oklahoma. In 2014, she received a Master of Science in Nursing and completed her education to become a dually board-certified Adult-Gerontological and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Lift your voice!"That was the exhortation given by Jamie Fitt as he led a worship service in West Reading on Sunday afternoon as part of the "Turning Point" revival conference marking the 300th anniversary of the death of William Penn. The event was held at the Olympian Ballroom/Fred Astaire Dance Studio, 603 Penn Ave.Fitt, a member of the Philadelphia Tabernacle of David, is known for his emphasis on prophetic, or divinely inspired, worship. The service, attended by about 50 people, included worshippers waving colorful flags and beating Mattah sticks on the floor while parading around the room. Fitt sang and played guitar as members of his family joined in on bass, keyboard, drums and saxophone. Commissioner Mike Williams names Beaumont ISD Board of Managers
Darwin Campbell, African-American News&Issues Austin- Commissioner of Education Michael Williams today announced his appointments to a seven-member board of managers for the Beaumont Independent School District (BISD). The board will be sworn in at a special called meeting July 21. The board of managers will be responsible for overseeing the management of the BISD, including oversight of the district’s efforts to address and correct identified deficiencies and to implement effective, structural and procedural improvement strategies for long-term, positive change.
