Former Philippine First Lady Imelda Marcos Attends Pope Francis’ Mass
TACLOBAN, Philippines — Former Philippine First Lady Imelda Marcos raised eyebrows Saturday when she made an appearance at Pope Francis' Mass held in the typhoon-ravaged region , declaring that she loves the poor. Marcos, 85, was one of the thousands wearing yellow ponchos and enduring wind and rain to hear the pontiff deliver an emotional homily centering on the faith and resolve of the people there. Marcos, who also represents the region in the Philippine House of Representatives, had to be pushed in a wheelchair as she made her way around the crowds. "The message of the Holy Father is about the poor, and I love the poor," she told reporters. The comment didn't go unnoticed. During her two-decade period as first lady, Imelda Marcos and her husband, late President Ferdinand Marcos, became famous for promoting a lavish lifestyle while the country suffered under poverty. Imelda Marcos herself amassed some 3,000 pairs of shoes. She moved to Tacloban from Manila as a child, and … [Read more...] about Former Philippine First Lady Imelda Marcos Attends Pope Francis’ Mass
Fired Fed Claims Co-Workers Spent Days Watching Movies, Attacking ‘White Ladies’
A Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) worker fired for bringing a stun gun to work and repeatedly discharging it claims everyone else in her office just watches TV all day, so she doesn’t understand why she’s being singled out for rare discipline. The office in question is the “Non-VA Purchased Care Support Office,” which processes payments to private doctors providing care to veterans. Many VA employees opposed the program because they view it as threatening their union jobs. So many payments mysteriously never made it to the doctors that were owed that many of them began refusing to accept VA patients. The woman also paints the VA back office as a racially-charged culture of elderly black women that is distanced and different from that of the returning warriors they serve. The “sure, I was a bad employee, but so was everyone else around me, and VA management did nothing about them” tactic in countering management discipline is a recurring theme among poorly performing VA … [Read more...] about Fired Fed Claims Co-Workers Spent Days Watching Movies, Attacking ‘White Ladies’
Ricky Gervais Mocks Transgender Authoritarianism in Netflix Special: ‘Meet Me Halfway, Ladies. Lose the C**k’
Comedian Ricky Gervais took satirical aim at transgender authoritarianism in his new Netflix special SuperNature in which he mocks the woke left’s insistence that male-to-female transgenders who still have their penises be called women. Ricky Gervais ripped transgender orthodoxy near the top of his stand-up set. “The old-fashioned women, the ones with wombs. Those fucking dinosaurs,” he began. “I love the new women. They’re great, aren’t they? The new ones we’ve been seeing lately. The ones with beards and cocks. They’re as good as gold, I love them.” He continued: “And now the old-fashioned ones say, ‘Oh, they want to use our toilets.’ ‘Why shouldn’t they use your toilets?’ ‘For ladies!’ ‘They are ladies. Look at their pronouns! What about this person isn’t a lady?’ ‘Well, his penis.’ ‘ Her penis, you fucking bigot!’ ‘What if he rapes me?’ ‘What if she rapes you, you fucking TERF whore?’” Watch below (Warning: Graphic language): Ricky Gervais just came out … [Read more...] about Ricky Gervais Mocks Transgender Authoritarianism in Netflix Special: ‘Meet Me Halfway, Ladies. WOODLAND (CBS13) — On Mental Health Action Day , we met a young Woodland man who turned his own pain into purpose as he’s driving the conversation about mental health from awareness to action, not just here at home, but at the White House. “I used to close my door and cry into my pillow because I didn’t want anyone in my family to hear me,” Juan Acosta said. His wife earned between $15,000 and $50,000 from book sales. The report lists some income and assets only within a range, showing the couple's assets were worth between $1.05 million and $2.58 million. They owe between $250,000 and $500,000 on a mortgage on their Delaware home, plus between $30,000 and $100,000 on other loans. Harris reported significantly more in book royalties.
