The incident occurred around 7:30 a.m. near Empire Lounge, according to CBS12 , which reported the club was closed when the shooting happened, but there were people in the parking lot. The man was struck in the leg, CBS12 reported. He was found suffering from his injuries in a car, according to WPTV , which reported the man was in serious condition at a local hospital. He is expected to recover, police said, adding there is no threat to the community. Ashley Ludwig , Patch Staff Posted Reply HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA — A rain advisory was in effect Tuesday for Huntington Beach and all Orange County ocean, harbor and bay waters, the Orange County Health Care Agency reported Tuesday. The levels of bacteria in ocean and bay waters nearby storm drains, creeks and rivers elevate both during and after rainstorms, they reported. The advisory is expected to last until Friday, according to OC Health Care Agency reports, "depending on the intensity of the rain and the volume of the runoff." Swimmers should avoid coastal waters and beach users should avoid contact with any runoff on the beach during dry or wet weather conditions, they said. Harris County to expand new unarmed police alternative program in city
A pilot program that sends public health staff instead of police to respond to certain 911 calls in parts of Harris County is expanding, according to county officials. The Holistic Alternative Responder Team program , or HART, launched last year in the Harris County Sheriff's Office's 1st District, located in north Harris County. Under the program, "interdisciplinary unarmed, first responder teams, trained in behavioral health and on-scene medical assistance" are dispatched to respond to calls involving residents experiencing homelessness, mental health issues and other non-emergency calls.
