Man sentenced to 40 years in prison for Aurora shooting death over $20 dispute
Shockey, who has a criminal record in Nevada, Pennsylvania and Colorado, was on probation in Adams County for motor vehicle theft at the time of the shooting. He was being held in the Denver jail when the homicide warrant was issued. In June 2018, Shockey pleaded guilty to first-degree assault in Denver and was sentenced to 20 years in prison.
