close Video Tulsi Gabbard torches federal regulators' 'incredible abuse of power' Tulsi Gabbard, formerly a Democrat, says regulators are supposed to look out for the 'little guy' but have 'voided trust.' Former Democratic presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard accused her former party of adopting a platform of "hatred and hostility towards women," arguing that in the Democrats’ crusade for transgender rights they are denying the "existence of objective truth." Gabbard, the former Hawaii congresswoman who left the Democratic Party last year after leaving office, said one of the primary reasons for her leaving was the party’s insistence that gender is a social construct. "We just celebrated International Women's Day last week," she said Saturday. "I was scrolling through social media seeing, you know, what are people saying about it, and you saw a lot of nice, flowery words from a lot of people in Washington celebrating women and all that … [Read more...] about Tulsi Gabbard slams Democrats for ‘hatred and hostility towards women’

Why Joe Biden’s Honeymoon With Progressives Is Coming to an End
One of the most historically unusual aspects of the Biden administration has been the harmonious relations between the president and progressive activists. Historically , progressives generally spend most of their time complaining about Democratic presidents, both because they are temperamentally prone to negativity and because they believe in the tactical value of holding presidents’ feet to the fire. President Biden has enjoyed unusually warm support from the left. But that may be coming to an end. Reporters have detected a pattern in three of the administration’s recent moves. Biden is declining to block a bill in Congress overriding a liberalization of the D.C. criminal code, angering both advocates of D.C. sovereignty and anti-police activists. He approved a plan to allow ConocoPhillips to drill oil in Alaska. And he is signaling an intent to reinstate family detention along the southern border in order to deter migrants. Another perhaps even more significant sign comes … [Read more...] about Why Joe Biden’s Honeymoon With Progressives Is Coming to an End

Comedian Rob Schneider Has Become Hollywood’s Loudest (and Wackiest) Anti-Vaxxer
The celebrity anti-vaxxer brigade has a new member. Rob Schneider, of Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo and The Hot Chick fame, has taken to Twitter to air his grievances with the hotly debated California immunization bill. Since his first tweet in April, a retweet of an article shared by vocal anti-vaccine activist Robert F. Kennedy Jr., he has posted 464 times. Recently, he’s been sharing as many as 10 tweets a day, scolding California state legislators in all-caps and sharing famous quotes about political tyranny. The California bill in question, SB 276, would make it more difficult to obtain medical exemptions to vaccines without approval from a public-health officer. As The New York Times reports, California (along with Maine, Mississippi, and West Virginia) is one of four states that prohibits parents from choosing not to vaccinate their children for personal reasons. Doctors are legally permitted to provide exemptions if there is a medical reason, but if SB 276 … [Read more...] about Comedian Rob Schneider Has Become Hollywood’s Loudest (and Wackiest) Anti-Vaxxer
Macron’s government faces no-confidence vote over contentious pension plan
PARIS — France faces a day of reckoning Monday as the Parliament holds a key vote on no-confidence motions that could potentially lead to the government's collapse, after days of fiery protests over a pension plan . President Emmanuel Macron's long-promised plan to raise the national retirement age from 62 to 64 has sparked weeks of national strikes and demonstrations, and police have clashed with protesters in cities across the country. Police said some 4,000 protesters gathered in the Place d’Italie in southern Paris on Saturday, many chanting “Macron, resign!” as trash bins were set alight and officers responded by firing tear gas. More than 160 people were arrested across the country, the Interior Ministry said Sunday. Lawmakers have tabled two no-confidence motions against Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne and her government in the National Assembly, the lower chamber of the French Parliament which drives through new laws. A Different Kind of Pipeline Project Scrambles Midwest Politics
HARTFORD, S.D. — For more than a decade, the Midwest was the site of bitter clashes over plans for thousand-mile pipelines meant to carry crude oil beneath cornfields and cattle ranches. Now high-dollar pipeline fights are happening again, but with a twist. Instead of oil, these projects would carry millions of tons of carbon dioxide from ethanol plants to be injected into underground rock formations rather than dispersed as pollutants in the air. What is playing out is a very different kind of environmental battle, a huge test not just for farmers and landowners but for emerging technologies promoted as ways to safely store planet-warming carbon. The technology has generated support from powerful politicians in both parties, as well as major farming organizations, ethanol producers and some environmental groups. Supporters, including some farmers who have signed agreements to have a pipeline buried on their property, frame the ideas being proposed by two companies as a … [Read more...] about A Different Kind of Pipeline Project Scrambles Midwest Politics
