Delta enacted a ban against “pit bull type dogs” as support animals last year following several onboard incidents. In one case, a passenger was left with a bloody face after another passenger’s dog attacked him. But on Thursday, the federal Department of Transportation clarified the rules for airlines regarding animals traveling with passengers. The DOT said that airline employees can bar any animal they consider a safety threat. But they cannot issue a blanket ban against an entire breed of dog or cat, such as pit bulls. "It's the most disgusting thing I've ever seen on a plane," Charette says. "I didn't know what to do." It's hard to find someone who doesn't have a story like hers to tell. Charette, who writes a blog called Roaming Nanny, says she tries to keep her cool when a seatmate does something irritating. "I think the number one thing to remember when something weird starts happening is not to lose your temper," she says. Country music stations may not like to play Kacey Musgraves on the radio, but people in the industry sure seem like big fans - the singer walked away with two wins at the Country Music Association Awards in Nashville on Wednesday, tying Luke Combs for the most trophies of the night. "The female creative spirit, female energy, it's really needed right now. It's really important. And I feel like it's something that earth needs," Musgraves said as she picked up the trophy for female vocalist. Her Grammy-winning ballad, "Rainbow," won music video of the year. "So whether it's me that's up here or any of the other women in this category, I just think that it's a beautiful thing and I'm very appreciative." It was a fitting speech, given the show's theme was "celebrating legendary women in country music"; Nashville has made lots of unflattering headlines in recent years about the male-dominated genre's lack of support for female artists.
