Use Next and Previous buttons to navigate 9 WASHINGTON (AP) — Democrats pushed their flagship climate change and health care bill toward House passage Friday, placing President Joe Biden on the brink of a back-from-the-dead triumph on his leading domestic goals that the party hopes will energize voters going into November’s elections. The narrowly divided House was poised to approve the legislation, which is but a shadow of the larger, more ambitious plan to supercharge environment and social programs that Biden and his party envisioned early last year. Even so, Democrats were thirsty to declare victory on top-tier goals such as providing Congress’ largest ever investment in curbing carbon emissions, reining in pharmaceutical costs and taxing large companies and show they can wring accomplishments out of a frequently gridlocked Washington that disillusions many voters. Is Donald Trump Making America’s Environment Great Again?
President Barack Obama never missed a chance to talk about his environmental record. From his clean power plan to the Paris climate accord to emissions limits on vehicles, he made environmental policy a priority of his administration. Most of his environmental policy however, centered around his view of carbon dioxide as the most dangerous pollutant the United States produces. Climate change alarmism in the Democratic Party has deep roots, but the rise of a presidential candidate who made it such a major part of his platform, Al Gore, cemented climate change as a Democratic sacrament. If you disagreed with the Obama administration’s prioritization of carbon, but still consider yourself an environmentalist, then you may have an ally in the White House — President Trump himself. Carbon-centric energy and environmental policy is a black hole. Because of the gravity of the problem according to climate alarmists, the mitigation of climate change overwhelms any other environmental … [Read more...] about Is Donald Trump Making America’s Environment Great Again?
Top-Secret Documents Found at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago: Everything We’ve Learned
Photo: Brandon Bell/Getty Images Less than a week after the FBI searched Donald Trump ’s Mar-a-Lago home, it was revealed that federal agents were investigating potential violations of the Espionage Act and that they’d found multiple top-secret documents. On Friday, the warrant used for the search was unsealed after Attorney General Merrick Garland announced a day earlier that the Justice Department had filed a motion in court to do so. Chuck Grassley Demands Answers from FBI Director on Mar-a-Lago Raid
Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) is demanding answers from Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director Christopher Wray regarding Monday’s raid of former President Donald J. Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence. On Thursday, the conservative titan and ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee sent Wray a list of questions concerning the unprecedented raid in Palm Beach, Florida, among other topics, including Hunter Biden. The FBI’s execution of a search warrant at Mar-a-Lago was reportedly about documents Trump may have taken with him when he left office last year. FBI Director Christopher Wray testifies before the House Homeland Security Committee on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC, on October 30, 2019. (MANDEL NGAN/AFP via Getty Images) Grassley began by asking Wray about his knowledge of the raid before it happened, what potential role he played in approving it, and the investigation more generally. America’s taxpayers don’t need more IRS agents and audits, they need better customer service
close Video IRS could use Inflation Reduction Act's spending boost to target conservative groups NEW You can now listen to Fox News articles! Friday the House of Representatives is meeting in an unprecedented mid-August session to consider legislation Democrats have dubbed the "Inflation Reduction Act." Economists agree this massive spending package will do little to nothing to curb our 8.5% inflation rate. This package will, however, vastly expand the power of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to conduct costly audits of families and family businesses. Historically, the IRS has estimated voluntary tax compliance hovers around 80 percent. At the end of Fiscal Year 2021, the IRS employed 15,482 customer service representatives and over 24,000 revenue agents, tax examiners, revenue officers, special agents, and attorneys. According to the Taxpayer Advocate Service, some 21.3 million paper tax returns were waiting to be processed as of … [Read more...] about America’s taxpayers don’t need more IRS agents and audits, they need better customer service
