There are plenty of ways to get TikTok famous . One Texas man has racked up nearly two million followers and over 25 million likes on the popular platform by disguising himself as a potted bush and scaring people. Dubbed the "Texas Bushman," Joe Jones, 33, dresses in a green ghillie suit covered in fake leaves, sits in a large planter and quietly waits for unsuspecting passerbys to walk past him before he suddenly springs to life, producing plenty of screams and frightened jumps. @texasbushman Offered him $20 but he declined #bushman #bushmanprank #texasbushman #scareprank #funnyvideos ♬ original sound - Texas BUSHMAN And no one is safe when it comes to Jones's pranks. Russia Vows Revenge at the Latest Country to Cross Putin
Latvia’s parliament has moved to designate Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism over Russian President Vladimir Putin’s war in Ukraine —and the Kremlin does not appear to be taking it well. Russia is committing a “genocide against the Ukrainian people,” Latvian MPs said in a statement Thursday, according to AFP . Russia “uses suffering and intimidation as tools in its attempts to weaken the morale of the Ukrainian people and armed forces, and to paralyze the functioning of the state in order to occupy Ukraine.” Over 40 countries have already committed to helping document and investigate Russia’s suspected war crimes and atrocities in Ukraine, from the senseless killing of civilians , to rapes , to mass graves . The International Criminal Court might be putting forward a case as soon as this winter. Already, Russian officials and lawmakers are indignant at the news that another government believes the country’s behavior on the world stage is as vile as terrorists’ … [Read more...] about Russia Vows Revenge at the Latest Country to Cross Putin
China Mocks ‘Selfish Child’ Nancy Pelosi over China Praise Gaffe
China’s state-run Global Times on Wednesday pounced on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) mistakenly stating “China is one of the freest societies in the world” when she meant to say Taiwan. There was some black comedy to be found in the communist newspaper’s high dudgeon that anyone would dare insult China as being “free.” Pelosi delivered the gaffe during an interview with NBC’s Today show on Tuesday. Chinese propagandists were hardly the only ones to notice Pelosi defending her trip to Taiwan as “only about saying China is one of the freest societies in the world.” “Don’t take it from me, that’s from Freedom House,” she added. Freedom House , of course, would never dream of characterizing Communist China as one of the freest societies in the world. China’s current ranking from the human rights organization stands at 9 points out of 100, a certified “Not Free” rating that positions China as one of the worst tyrannies on Earth. China managed the … [Read more...] about China Mocks ‘Selfish Child’ Nancy Pelosi over China Praise Gaffe

Armed Man Who Stormed FBI Office Said He Wanted ‘War’ After Mar-a-Lago Raid
The armed man who tried to storm the FBI’s Cincinnati office on Thursday, before getting into a shootout with cops that left him dead in an Ohio cornfield, appeared to be a conspiracy-addled Trump super-fan who told his followers on Truth Social that he was “ready for combat” after the FBI raided Mar-a-Lago on Monday . The gunman was identified as 42-year-old Ricky Shiffer, the Ohio State Patrol told The Daily Beast. Two days before Shiffer embarked on the failed breach, an account under the same name on Truth Social foreshadowed an attack, calling for followers to “kill the F.B.I. on sight” in the wake of the raid at former President Donald Trump’s Florida estate. In his bio on TruthSocial, Shiffer identified himself as an electrician based in Columbus, Ohio, who had multiple social media firms lock his account. “People, this is it,” the account posted . “I hope a call to arms comes from someone better qualified, but if not, this is your call to arms from me. Leave work … [Read more...] about Armed Man Who Stormed FBI Office Said He Wanted ‘War’ After Mar-a-Lago Raid
