After getting rid of the men long in charge of the network’s infamous culture of sexual harassment and exploitation, Fox News got its first female chief executive officer Thursday. Her name, however, is all-too-familiar to women who accused the network’s executives of protecting its powerful stars from accusations of rampant sexual misconduct. This morning, 21st Century Fox Chairman Lachlan Murdoch announced that Suzanne Scott will take over as the network’s first female CEO—making her the first female chief of any major TV news organization. She was promoted to Fox News’ head of programming just last year, following the exit of longtime Ailes henchman Bill Shine. “Suzanne has been instrumental in the success of Fox News and she has now made history as its first female CEO,” Murdoch said of Scott, a 22-year Fox veteran who rose up the ranks from programming assistant to executive producer to CEO. “Her vision and innovation have helped … [Read more...] about Fox News’ New CEO Enabled Roger Ailes’ Harassment Culture, Lawsuits Say

Proenza Schouler talk art, design and tech in rare SF visit
Talking with Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, the designers behind New York womenswear brand Proenza Schouler, is like a conversation with cool, artsy friends from out of town: They’re looking forward to a weekend in Big Sur, and share recommendations for land art — which, to be clear, is different from Burning Man art. Sipping red wine in the dining room of the private San Francisco club the Battery on Friday evening, and dressed mostly in black, the duo is unassuming yet elegant, charming while not the least bit aloof, despite exhaustion from a party the day before to promote their first fragrance, Arizona — in Milan, Italy. For the past 16 years, their faces have been mainstays in Vogue (editor-in-chief Anna Wintour is “like a godmother”), and they’re considered a prestigious show to see at New York Fashion Week. They won the first CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund award in 2004, and their foray into handbags with the PS1 in 2008 became an instant … [Read more...] about Proenza Schouler talk art, design and tech in rare SF visit

So she took that same mindset when working on “Queen … [Read more...] about Director behind Beyoncé’s ‘Formation’ video makes her feature film debut
