The Biden administration is set to broker a deal with Mexico to crack down on fentanyl, NBC News reported Monday. The agreement would mean that Mexico will target the chemicals coming into the country to make fentanyl and the clandestine labs used to synthesize the drug and the U.S. will hold up its end of the bargain by countering arms trafficking going south, according to NBC News, which cited two sources familiar with the deal. Fentanyl is largely made by cartels in Mexico using chemicals made in China, according to the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). NEW YORK – Andre Agassi's upcoming autobiography contains an admission that he used crystal meth in 1997 and lied to tennis authorities when he failed a drug test — a result that was thrown out after he said he "unwittingly" took the substance. According to an excerpt of the autobiography posted on The Times of London Web site Tuesday, the eight-time Grand Slam champion writes that he sent a letter to the ATP tour to explain the positive test, saying he accidentally drank from a soda spiked with meth by his assistant "Slim." "Then I come to the central lie of the letter," Agassi writes. "I say that recently I drank accidentally from one of Slim's spiked sodas, unwittingly ingesting his drugs. I ask for understanding and leniency and hastily sign it: Sincerely. "I feel ashamed, of course. I promise myself that this lie is the end of it. The ATP reviewed the case — and threw it out." “No realism,” the French playwright Yasmina Reza indicates twice in the opening pages of her new play “James Brown Wore Curlers,” which had its world premiere this past weekend in Munich. It’s a stage direction that the director Philipp Stölzl has taken to heart in his gently surreal production at the Residenztheater. The rotating stage is dominated by a wooden swing, a player piano and, most memorably, a gigantic fish: two halves of a trout, suspended high above the actors. The effect is weird, hilarious and, when fog issues in torrents from the fish’s mouth late in the performance, hallucinogenic. It turns out Reza and her director have a point. The non-naturalism of the staging helps the audience ease into the improbable plot, which tracks a French couple whose son goes from being a Celine Dion superfan to believing that he is the French Canadian pop diva herself.
