WASHINGTON (AP) — A former Trump campaign aide central to the early days of the FBI's Russia investigation said the FBI wanted him to wear a wire. The former aide, George Papadopoulos, said he was asked to record conversations with a professor who had told him the Russians had dirt on Hillary Clinton. Papadopoulos, the first of five Trump aides to plead guilty and agree to cooperate in special counsel Robert Mueller's recently-concluded investigation, told House lawmakers in a closed-door interview last October that he rejected the FBI request. U.S. Donald Trump Former Acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe in an interview on CBS News' 60 Minutes said that former Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein was “absolutely serious” when he offered to wear a wire to record President Donald Trump. In the interview aired Sunday night, McCabe described to interviewer Scott Pelley the chaos in the top echelons of the Justice Department that followed the sacking of FBI Director James Comey by Trump in May 2017. “We talked about why the president had insisted on firing the director and whether or not he was thinking about the Russia investigation and did that impact his decision,” said McCabe, referring to the FBI probe into allegations Trump's campaign colluded with Russia to win the 2016 presidential election. A wire fox terrier named King has been crowned best in show at the 2019 Westminster Kennel Club dog show, cementing his place in a long dynasty of winners in his breed.Wire fox terriers are the winningest dog of any breed at the long-running New York dog show, now in its 143rd year. King, whose full competition name is GCHB CH Kingarthur Van Foliny Home, is the 15th wire fox terrier to be named best in show.The dog, owned by Victor Malzoni, Jr. of Fowlerville, Michigan and handled by Gabriel Rangel (pictured above and below with the dog), took the title at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night after winning the terrier group.
