Police confirmed Monday that they were pursuing a vehicle when it crashed head-on into an SUV on Cape Cod shortly after midnight Saturday, killing three people. Kevin Quinn, 32, of Mashpee, and Mickey Rivera, 22, of Fall River, died in the collision on Route 28 in Cotuit. Rivera's passenger, 24-year-old Jocelyn Goyette of New Bedford, died on Monday at a hospital in Boston. Mashpee police said they were chasing a car driven by Rivera but would not say what launched the pursuit. Police radio reports indicate the chase began following a report of erratic operation and speeding. Quinn, a Marine veteran who served two tours of duty in Afghanistan, was returning home from a hospital visit with his wife, Kara, and their first child, Logan, who had been born on Wednesday. Severe thunderstorm watches and warnings have been issued across New England as active weather hits Friday afternoon. We started the day warm and muggy with areas of fog near our coastlines. The fog will burn off by late morning for most and clouds will start bubbling up by the lunch hour. Temperatures will be in the low 80s, but once again feel warmer under this tropical air mass. Temperatures Monday will climb into the mid-80s for most. Clouds may filter out the sun late in the day. Extreme Weather: Hershey Park Reopens After Flooding Tuesday, all bets are off for an entirely dry day. We’re expecting the humidity to increase once again. Downpours are likely across western New England. The one place that has the greatest chance of staying mainly dry will be our coastal communities. Wednesday through Friday look very tropical. If you've got a "tough face" and have always thought you have what it takes to be in movies, casting directors for Mark Wahlberg's next flick might be looking for you! Boston Casting is holding an open call Saturday, Aug. 4, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at their Allston offices for the new Wahlberg movie being shot in the Boston area. According to a Facebook post, the casting company is looking for "character men with tough faces." They are looking to cast for speaking roles and extras who can play construction workers, blue collar workers, DPW workers, fishermen, and mobsters. The name of the Wahlberg movie hasn't been disclosed, but according to IMDB, the actor, producer and Dorchester native has "Wonderland" in pre-production. New Britain police have arrested a man who is accused of forcing a teenage girl into his car, then forcing her to touch him inappropriately. Officers responded to South Burritt Street just after 12:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon to investigate reports of a kidnapping and spoke with a 14-year-old girl and a 15-year-old girl, police said. The girls said they had been walking on Black Rock Avenue when a man in an SUV asked them for sex in exchange for money, then forced the 14 year old into his vehicle, police said. The 15-year-old girl ran. She found a bystander and asked that person to call the police.
