The Los Angeles Rams defeated the New Orleans Saints 26-23 in overtime on Sunday to win the NFC championship. But the virtually universal opinion appears to be the Saints would have been the conference’s representative at Super Bowl LIII if not for an officiating lapse.New Orleans quarterback Drew Brees tried to hit wide receiver Tommylee Lewis with a third-and-10 pass from the Los Angeles 13-yard line with fewer than two minutes to play in the fourth quarter. Rams cornerback Nickell Robey-Coleman, without looking back for the football, ran over Lewis, and the pass fell incomplete.Saints place-kicker Will Lutz came on the field and kicked a 31-yard field goal with 1:41 left in regulation to give New Orleans a 23-20 lead. The Rams sent the game into overtime on Greg Zuerlein's 57-yard field goal with 15 seconds remaining in regulation. But if defensive pass interference had been called on Robey-Coleman, the Saints would haven gotten a fresh set of downs and the possibility of … [Read more...] about Mark Ingram endures another agonizing loss with Saints

When things line up just right and the moon moves into the shadow cast by the Earth it results in an eclipse, according to NASA. This eclipse will also feature a supermoon -- or a moon that is especially close to the Earth in its orbit. A supermoon can sometimes appear bigger and brighter than a regular moon. January's full moon is also sometimes called the "Full Wolf Moon," which makes tonight's moon a Super Blood Wolf Moon for anyone keeping score. It will likely not be noticeable at first, according to NASA, but the … [Read more...] about Eclipse January 2019: Super Blood Wolf Moon Eclipse happens tonight
Mark Ingram won the Heisman Trophy as an All-American running back for Alabama’s BCS national-championship team in 2009, and he’s been a two-time 1,000-yard rusher for the New Orleans Saints in the NFL.Early in the NFC championship game against the Los Angeles Rams, Ingram was in the spotlight again, even though he had 8 yards on three rushing attempts. What turned attention to Ingram was his block on the Saints' first touchdown of the game.Quarterback Drew Brees threw a 5-yard scoring pass to tight end Garrett Griffin as New Orleans took a 13-0 lead with 1:35 left in the first quarter at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. On the touchdown pass, outside linebacker Dante Fowler Jr. drew a bead on Brees, but Ingram protected the quarterback with a block that flipped Fowler.Watch the block by Ingram!! #Saints pic.twitter.com/hpNGRkE0de— #NobodyDied (@ftbeard_17) January 20, 2019 Get an RB who blocks like this 💪 @MarkIngram22 pic.twitter.com/rBzvNsjQ2c— The … [Read more...] about Mark Ingram keeps flipping Rams’ Dante Fowler Jr.
