This knife is one of the best that you will find for the money. Its surprisingly sturdy given its slim size. The colors of the platic and rubber look much better in real life than the picture suggests. The safety thumbstud takes some getting used to, but since most people who get new spring assisted knives play with them a lot once they hold it, that shouldn’t be a problem. Only problem that there is that the clip’s orientation cannot be changed. I prefer right side, tip-down carry, so it isn’t a personal problem albeit others may find this to be a flaw.

Great quality knife. I got this for my son on his birthday. He’s a knife enthusiast. He’s collected several Cold Steel and CRKT folders already and I haven’t been very impressed yet with the folders. I have a CRKT Onion skinner that is my all time favorite knife in the world. I don’t go into deer season without it. There can’t be a better skinner.
As far as folders go, my favorite has been an older Kershaw Blur S30V. My son’s new Moxie has a great assist device, a nice handle, and a good blade for a very low cost. It would be a very good inexpensive EDC, or just another part of your collection.

Nice pocket size, however of you have larger hands it can be an issue when opening and you can’t get the right grip angle sometimes. Other then that it is built solid and stays sharp, what more can you ask for.

I bought this from an Amazon Marketplace company called Green Valley Place. They are no more than 1 day away from me by first class mail. I could drive there in 2 1/2 hours. They sat on the order for a week then shipped it and of course it took 1 day of mail time. It could not have taken more than 1 minute to print the label and place the product in a pouch and drop it in the outgoing mail. I should have had the knife 2 days after I placed the order.

Unfortunately I couldn’t even get it open initially even though I own a CRKT Ignitor that uses the same Fire Safe and Outburst mechanisms. After fuming for an hour I finally took out my tools and started making adjustments. This is not something I am not inclined to do since I should receive a knife in at least working order if not perfect working order. After a while I was able to get it open but it would not lock the blade. After a couple of hours I had it to the point that I could open it and get a blade lockup but not nearly as easily as it should have been. Neither did it snap open and lock up with an authoritative snap like my Ignitor. (BTW…the Ignitor is my all time favorite assisted opening knife and that influenced this purchase.) After I had the knife working to this point I noticed the blade was severely canted in the closed position.

I called CRKT customer service and discussed it with a man there who was very helpful. He diagnosed the likely problem and I had already reached the same conclusion. There must be a defect in the torsion bar. CRKT customer service said the knife was not performing the way it should. They offered to replace it free of charge.

A little while later Green Valley Place sent an email saying that they too were a victim but I could keep the knife and they were refunding my total cost. They washed their hands of the whole deal. Amazon would have shipped me a new product by overnight delivery if it had come directly from them and dealt with the return issue later. Since it took them a week to ship it they could have taken a couple of minutes to open the box and check the knife. They don’t deserve a pass on this failure.

I have wasted a week or a little more and still don’t have a usable knife so I am not letting Green Valley Place off the hook, refund or no refund. I am giving them a big fat zero and warning people to not deal with them. They don’t measure up to Amazon standards.

Now that I have a free knife I guess I will send it to CRKT. They will replace it with a knife that has been checked out thoroughly before they ship it.

If I do that I will write a new review and give the knife a proper rating.with the return issue later. Since it took them a week to ship it they could have taken a couple of minutes to open the box and check the knife. They don’t deserve a pass on this failure.
