I bought this as a gift and while it’s a fun throwback to childhood, I was quite disappointed in a couple of areas. First, anything that wasn’t in air right packaging was very stale. So the bubble tape, one of the main attractions, was hard and dry.
Also, the product description is falsely advertised. It specifically lists all the included candy but our box was missing 9 of them.
Items included in description that were not in the box: Big League Chew, Skittles, Blow Pop, Saf-T-Pop, Tootsie Rolls, Juicy Fruit Gum, Gobstoppers, Mary Janes, Chick-O-Stick.
The concept is great, the delivery is a disappointment. If it weren’t a gift, I would’ve returned it.
A lot of the candy was broken, as well as some of the wrappers had split open spilling a sticky mess on the rest of the pieces. Disappointed as this was to be a fun birthday gift. Not worth the money if most of the candy wasn’t edible.
It was 30th birthday gift for a friend. She loved it!
I gave this to a friend for her 30th birthday (even though I should have gotten her the 1984 box — nice math skills). She loved it. She shared it with people at the party and everyone had fun eating and talking about the candy from their childhoods. The reviews that complain about the price are off base — you are paying extra for the nostalgia. You may be able to put something together in a cool box for less money, but it will take a lot more effort. This thing a is great and I will be buying more when future birthday opportunities arise.

This gift set is a great gift for any child of the 80’s that yearns for Bubble Tape. However, it is an insane amount of candy. I’d recommend gifting it within an office or communal setting so that everyone can enjoy it.
I bought this for a friend’s 30th birthday party and it was a total success! It was super fun to look through and I think she had fun sharing the candy with everyone.

The idea behind this product is pretty cool. The fact that I paid almost $40 was not. 3 Stars is being a little generous given the fact that it’s $15 worth of candy at best. I was definitely expecting a little more substance, but oh well. Not completely pissed, but I wouldn’t order again.
Well I was glad that the item arrived in time for the party. But I thought it was going to be bigger and in some kind of pop up display as the picture seems to represent. It was a plain old cardboard box with a printed top that did not punch out and pop up. The card that I thought they were including with a sentiment was a yellow piece of paper with words handwritten on it. At the party people were taking notice of what candy was around in 1981 and what one’s were not. It was ok but I would never order it again-was not cheap especially when you ad in the shipping cost.
I sent this to my little sis for her 30th birthday. I wanted to send her something fun. She loved it! She was a candy freak when we were kids (and still is sometimes) so this was perfect. Lots of candy and the box it came in was really cute too.
