Houston SPCA Wildlife Center of Texas rescues nestling bald eagle in Webster

Once Boots is more stable, the Houston SPCA said it plans to assess apparent deformities they found in his legs and feet. They thanked CenterPoint Energy who assisted in the rescue by providing a high lift bucket truck to help them reach the nest, which was high up in a tree. They also thanked White for “keeping a diligent eye on the nest and the health of the eaglets.”

Concerned viewers who also watched Boots struggling on camera filled the comments of the Houston SPCA’s post. “Awe. There’s out little Boots! So happy he’s being taken care of by the experts! Thanks to Paul White for watching them so closely,” read one comment. Another bird watcher offered prayers and positive thoughts for Boots and his caregivers. “Nature is so hard to watch sometimes, and at times is so beautiful,” the comment read. “In both the hard and good times there are lessons to be learned.”

White also shared footage of the CenterPoint bucket truck taking two wildlife rescue specialists up to Boots. He also previously posted video of Boots on Wednesday struggling to move forward to get fed because one of his legs was stuck. Meanwhile, his brother Ringo got all the bites from their mother.
