Stellan Skarsgard and Kyle Soller are reportedly in final negotiations to join Diego Luna in Disney+’s upcoming Rogue One series, a spinoff based on the Star Wars prequel. Luna will reprise his role of rebel Cassian Andor, who attempts to dismantle the evil empire.

No word yet has been given about who Skarsgard and Soller are supposed to play in the upcoming Disney+ series. A Disney spokesperson has declined to comment about their roles on the show, according to Variety. Alan Tudyk will also return in the role of K-2SO, the former security droid from the Galactic Empire.

Tony Gilroy, one of the screenwriters behind Rogue One, will write the pilot and handle directing duties for multiple episodes. Though the sci-fi drama has been scheduled for 2021, the series may be put on hold, due to the pandemic. When production of the Disney+ series will start is currently unknown at this time.

The Disney+ will take place before the events of Rogue One movie, because, spoilers, everyone’s dead by the end of that flick. In the Star Wars prequel, set before Episode III: A New Hope, Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) discovered her father had designed a major flaw in the Death Star. With the rebellion running on fumes, Jyn teamed up with Andor and K-2SO, and risked their lives getting that damaging information out to Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher).

Following the success of The Mandalorian, I for one am very excited about this new Disney+ news. May the tone will be just as gritty and bleak! So remember Chirrut’s mantra and say with it me, “I am one with The Force. The Force is with me.”
