A 29-year-old Golden man has been arrested for investigation of vehicular homicide in a fatal Friday night pedestrian crash in Lower Downtown Denver, authorities say. Jerek Fabjancic was allegedly driving a red Toyota truck southbound on Blake Street when he ran a red light at 15th Street and collided with a pedestrian, according to a Denver police news release. The victim was legally crossing in the north crosswalk at the time of the crash, according to a Denver police probable cause statement. The suspect then fled the scene without checking the victim for possible injuries. The pedestrian was taken to Denver Health Medical Center and later pronounced dead. Police issued a Medina Alert on Friday night as authorities searched for a maroon Toyota pickup truck, one of the vehicles involved in the crash. The alert was lifted Saturday morning when police located the vehicle, police said in a tweet. Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies arrested Fabjancic in Golden at 9:45 a.m., the affidavit says.
