A man accused of assaulting a woman in York County after following her from a Cumberland County Walmart is being sought by police, who shared surveillance images with hopes of identifying him. Northern York County Regional police have asked anyone with information about the man or the incident to call them at 717-467-8355 or email them at [email protected] Police said they were contacted about 5:07 a.m. March 8, when an assault was reported on Albert Lane in Franklin Township, York County. A woman reported that she had finished working earlier that morning and stopped at a Walmart in Mechanicsburg, Cumberland County on her way home, police said. As she drove away from the Walmart, she noticed she was being followed by a small black vehicle, which continued to follow her until she arrived at her home. When the woman exited her vehicle, the man also exited his, approached her and asked for directions, police said. When the woman reached into her vehicle to get a pen to write the directions, the man assaulted her, according to police. “No medical attention was needed for the victim,” police said, adding that the man did not steal anything from the woman after the assault. The woman did not know the man, police said.
