Penn State has lost a Class of 2019 verbal commitment. Fayetteville, N.C., receiver Emery Simmons announced on Saturday that he has flipped from the Lions to North Carolina just days before the early National Signing Day on Dec. 19. The three-star pledged to the Lions back on July 28 and visited two months later for the Ohio State game, but now Simmons, who stands 6-foot, 185 pounds, has changed his mind again. Previously, he has committed to and then decommitted from both Indiana and North Carolina in this cycle, and now head coach James Franklin’s Lions join that list as he flipped back to the Tar Heels. Love my state!!! I gotta do it for them 🐑🐑 pic.twitter.com/LPts6jnA1n- Emery Simmons (@SimmonsDaekwon) December 8, 2018 It leaves the Penn State’s 2019 class at 16 members, and the only receiver currently committed is Florida four-star pass catcher John Dunmore.
