Fortnite Galaxy Skin: How to get Samsung Galaxy skin? Is It only on Android smartphones

We’re getting steadily closer to the launch of the new Samsung Note and Tab S4 mobiles devices and that means we’re also fast approaching the release for Fortnite’s coveted Galaxy Skin.

According to Samsung’s own website, pre-orders for the Tab 4 are expected to start shipping on August 23 2018, with the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 hitting shops a day later.

As it stands, the only way Fortnite players can get their hands on this exclusive skin is by logging into Fortnite on one of these shiny new mobile devices. And for those curious, the Note 9 costs (just) £899, while the Tab S4 is priced from £599.

Famous Fortnite streamer, Ninja, has been lucky enough to receive a new Note S9 ahead of launch and duly jumped into a few games using the new Galaxy skin. You can take a look at some of the footage from the Twitch stream in the video below.

For the time being there are still some question marks over exactly how exclusive this new skin will be,  or whether it will come to the game in other means at a later stage.

Naturally, any questions to Samsung support reps are both pointless and unreliable.

Fortnite was finally announced for Android today, but as an exclusive to Samsung Galaxy devices for the time being.

Epic’s Tim Sweeney announced at the Samsung Note 9 reveal event that the Android beta for the popular Battle Royale game is now live to all Galaxy users, and that it’ll be coming to all Android devices later this week.

As part of the exclusivity deal, you’ll be able to download a special Galaxy skin if you play the game on a Galaxy Note 9 or a Galaxy Tab 4.

So the conditions to get the new skin are pretty extraordinary.

What that basically means is:

To get the Galaxy skin in Fortnite, you need to play the game on Android, on a Samsung device – specifically a Samsung Galaxy device – and two of the newest, most expensive devices at that.

This means that the Galaxy skin is inevitably going to be one of the rarest skins in the game, because of how few people comparatively are going to be able to get it versus the massive playerbase.

Therefore this will be rarer than the PS4 skin and the Keanu Reeves-inspired skin from a high tier earlier in the game, too.

Unfortuantely, if you’re not using a brand new Samsung device, you won’t get the Galaxy skin. However, that doesn’t mean you won’t be able to access the Android beta.

Epic Games will start rolling out access to players not using Samsung phones in the next few days.

Players will be granted access in waves to Fortnite Battle Royale, and will be sent instructions on how to download and play!
